You will consult one of our doctors who will be with you on your journey, providing you with a personalised treatment plan tailored to your medical condition. The first consultation includes steps that are necessary such as permits or applications to the TGA and State Health body on your behalf. The application process can be complex and time consuming.

Referral to CannaAid Medical from your usual medical practitioner would be required. We also have a self-referral pathway where patients do not need a referral to attend our clinic. The cost for this is $280 as there are additional steps required such as gathering medical reports and other administrative/clinical tasks. Patients wishing to access this pathway should proceed through our eligibility test.

Throughout your treatment, our doctor will initially follow up closely with you in subsequent appointments at a lower cost. A follow-up appointment will be a simple process of reviewing your dose and symptom control. Our doctors can then determine the number of repeat prescriptions needed and assess the need for any alternative therapies.

Department of Veterans’ Affairs can consider funding medicinal cannabis applications through the Repatriation Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (RPBS) if both of the following apply:

You hold a Veteran Card that covers treatment for the relevant condition.
Evidence-based standard treatments have been undertaken for your relevant condition, and have not been effective.
Gold Cards and Orange Cards cover RPBS prescriptions for all conditions. If you have a White Card and you need to confirm whether it covers the condition to be treated, you can phone 1800 552 580.

How do I get a concession discount if I'm not a patient yet?

Prior to your consultation date, you must inform the clinic (SMS/email/call) if you have any relevant concessions. If you have a Commonwealth-issued Health Card, Veterans Card or Seniors Health & Pensioner Concession Card, the receptionist will enter your details into the system and your concession status will be updated.
